About the Apartment WEINTRAUBE

The apartment WEINTRAUBE is located in the heart of Vienna’s second district (Leopoldstadt), right next to Vienna's old town.

Historically, the Leopoldstadt is a focal point of artists, intellectuals and the Jewish community of Vienna. It benefits from its central location as well as from a plentitude of green areas.

Conveniently located in immediate proximity to Vienna’s historic city center (the 1st district), you can either walk there (approx. 10-15 min.) or use the nearby subway (1 stop). On the way, you maybe want to stop by the apartment where Johann Strauss composed the world-famous waltz 'The Blue Danube', Austria's "unofficial national anthem" in 1867. Another famous tourist attraction is the close-by Wiener Prater (large recreational area and amusement park).

PS: By the way, 'Weintraube' is the German word for 'Grape', which not only lends its name to the street (maybe there were some vineyards in former times), but also serves as a thematic thread of the apartment.
