Parking in Vienna
Vienna's city center and surrounding districts (districts 1-12 and 14-20) are regulated by short-term parking which requires a time-based fee (Monday to Friday from 9.00 AM to 10.00 PM, excluding public holidays, otherwise parking is free , some limitations or special regulations may occur on major streets). For details see further below.
For long-term parking, we suggest to use a parking garage (for approx. EUR 15,- per day). There are various parking garages in close vicinity to our apartments. Alternatively, 24-hour free parking can be found in the outer districts of Vienna, most parking lots can be easily reached by public transport.
Further infos about short-term parking
Most parking zones within central Vienna (including the locations of our apartments), require a valid parking ticket, to be placed behind the windscreen of your car, indicating the starting time of the parking period. Car-parking slips can be purchased at most tobacco shops, cigarette vending machines and gas stations, at ticket booths of the Vienna Public Transport System as well as subway ticket vending machines. They come in various time untis, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and can also be combined. The maximum parking time permitted is 2 hours. Specific time periods of required short-term parking vary by area, for major shopping streets please check the respective street signs next to your car. A very short parking period of max. 15 minutes is free, but still requires a specific parking slip (!).
